The SEAI Energy Awards award recognises our innovative retrofit at Parknasilla Resort’s Leisure Centre and confirms the role of advanced heat pump technology in achieving significant and measurable carbon reductions.

Master Therm has been named the winner of the “Best Sustainable Product / Project” category at the 2025 in recognition of our innovative energy retrofit at the Parknasilla Resort Leisure Centre. The SEAI Energy Awards award highlights the power of modern heat pump technologies to drive deep decarbonisation — even in demanding hospitality environments.
Organised annually by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the Energy Awards celebrate the most impactful and innovative energy projects across Ireland’s public, private and community sectors. Over the past two decades, they have become one of the country’s most prestigious honours in the field of sustainable energy.

A major step forward in sustainable hospitalit
The winning project involved the replacement of the existing heating system at Parknasilla’s leisure facilities with a cascade of MasterTherm BoxAir 60 IS heat pumps, combined with high-efficiency air handling units and smart circulation pumps. The results speak for themselves:
- 87% reduction in annual energy consumption and CO₂ emissions
- 81% reduction in operating costs, ensuring a rapid return on investment
- No compromise in guest comfort — in fact, the spa and swimming pools are now more consistently warm and reliable than ever before
This transformation proves that luxury and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. On the contrary, with the right technology, they can go hand in hand.
Collaboration behind the success
A heartfelt thank you goes to the forward-thinking management team at Parknasilla Resort, the dedicated MasterTherm engineering team, and all partners who helped bring this project to life. Appreciation also goes to the SEAI judging panel for recognising not only the energy savings achieved, but also the broader impact this solution has in setting a powerful precedent for the entire tourism sector.
“We at MasterTherm Ireland are truly honoured to receive the prestigious Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) Energy Show award for Sustainability Project / Product of the Year.
This recognition reflects our commitment to delivering high-performance renewable heating solutions that contribute significantly to Ireland’s national CO₂ reduction targets,” said Lukáš Kadlík, Technical Director at MasterTherm Ireland.
Scaling impact across Ireland
Building on the success at Parknasilla, Master Therm is already expanding these solutions across Ireland’s tourism and leisure industries. By reducing energy consumption and emissions in buildings with high heating demands, we’re helping pave the way toward a net-zero Ireland.
